Jason Ervin's Education and First Jobs
Jason Ervin went to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also studied at Governors State University, where he received a Master of Public Administration. Before joining the Chicago City Council, he was the village manager of Maywood, Illinois. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), which means he is an expert in accounting. He graduated from Morgan Park Academy.
Jason Ervin's Role as an Alderman
In 2010, the mayor at the time, Richard M. Daley, chose Jason Ervin to become the alderman for the 28th Ward. This happened after the previous alderman, Ed Smith, retired. Since then, Jason Ervin has been reelected several times. He won elections in 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023.
