Early Career with Newcastle
Jason started his professional career with the Newcastle Knights. His first big game was in 1997. He played against North Sydney in Round 2 of the season. In his first year, he played 12 games for the Knights. However, he did not play in their first-ever championship win that year. The Knights won the premiership against Manly-Warringah.
Time with Parramatta Eels
In the year 2000, Jason Moodie moved to play for the Parramatta Eels. He quickly became an important player for the team. In 2001, he played in the 2001 NRL grand final for the Parramatta Eels. This was a very important game, but his team lost to his old team, the Newcastle Knights.
Representing New South Wales
Jason Moodie also had the honor of playing for his state. He represented New South Wales in the famous State of Origin series. This is a big competition between New South Wales and Queensland.
