Jaspers Brush is a small, quiet area in the countryside of New South Wales, Australia. It is located south of a town called Berry, within the larger Shoalhaven region.
About Jaspers Brush
A Bit of History
Jaspers Brush got its name from a man named John Ingold. He decided to name the area after his brother, Jasper. Sadly, Jasper passed away in 1860 before he could travel from England to Australia.
The Old Train Station
Jaspers Brush once had its own train station. This station was part of the South Coast Railway line. It first opened its doors on June 2, 1893. However, the station closed down many years later, on December 11, 1951.
Future Train Plans
There are plans to add more train tracks through Jaspers Brush. This project is called 'duplication' because it means making a second set of tracks. Adding more tracks will help more freight trains (which carry goods) pass through the area. It will also allow passenger trains to run more often, perhaps every half hour instead of every hour. This means better service for people traveling by train.
