Starting His Professional Journey

Javier Castillo started his professional baseball journey in 2002. He joined the Chicago White Sox team system. His first team was the Dominican Summer League White Sox. In 2002, he hit for a batting average of .193. This means he got a hit about 19.3% of the times he tried. The next year, in 2003, his batting average improved to .238.

In 2004, Javier played for the Bristol White Sox. He had a good season, hitting .272 in 60 games. His skills were noticed, and Baseball America magazine even called him the 17th best new player in the league that year.

The 2005 season saw Javier play for two different teams: the Great Falls White Sox and the Kannapolis Intimidators. He continued to gain experience, hitting .219 with the first team and .226 with the second.

Moving Up the Ranks

In 2006, Javier played for the Kannapolis Intimidators again. He played in 94 games and hit .256. This was also a special year because he got to play for Panama in the 2006 World Baseball Classic. He appeared in two games during this important international tournament.
