Jeanette Bonnier facts for kids
Jeanette Bonnier (born January 23, 1934 – died April 16, 2016) was an important Swedish media owner, journalist, and writer. She was the daughter of famous publisher Albert Bonnier Jr. and Birgit Flodquist. Jeanette was also the sister of Charlotte Bonnier and held a large part of the Bonnier Group, a big media company.
Early Life and Career
Jeanette Bonnier was the daughter of Albert Bonnier Jr. and Birgit Flodquist. She was the sister of Charlotte Bonnier. She also had a half-brother named Joakim Santesson. Her grandfather was Tor Bonnier.
Jeanette started working at Bonnier companies early in her life. She worked in the advertising department at Åhlén & Åkerlund. This was one of her first jobs.
Becoming a Journalist
In 1952, Jeanette Bonnier became a general reporter for Expressen, a major newspaper. She also worked as a reporter for other magazines. These included Bildjournalen, Weekly Journal, and Filmjournalen.
Later, she became the head of Eva, a fashion magazine. This magazine was part of Bonnier's monthly publications.
Life in New York
In the late 1960s, Jeanette Bonnier moved to New York City. There, she led the Bonniers Ink department store. She also worked as a gallerist with Jan Eric Löwenadler. A gallerist is someone who owns or manages an art gallery. For a few years, she also lived in Portugal.
Personal Life
Jeanette Bonnier was married three times. Her first marriage was from 1958 to 1961 to doctor Bengt Thomasson. Her second marriage was from 1964 to 1970 to director Hans Dahlin. Later, she was married a third time from 1974 to 1988 to Jörn Donner.
