Jeannot Ahoussou-Kouadio (born March 6, 1951) is a politician from the Ivory Coast. He has held several important roles in his country's government. From March to November 2012, he served as the Prime Minister of Ivory Coast.
Later, in April 2018, he became the president of the Senate of Ivory Coast. He held this position until October 2023. Before becoming Prime Minister, he was the Minister of Industry from 2002 to 2005 and the Minister of Justice from 2010 to 2012.
Ahoussou-Kouadio is a member of the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast – African Democratic Rally (PDCI–RDA). This political party was once led by former president Henri Konan Bédié. After his time as Prime Minister, he continued to serve his country. He was the president of the Regional Council of Bélier Region and a Minister of State. He helped with political discussions and worked with government groups.

Early Life and Political Beginnings
Jeannot Ahoussou-Kouadio was born in a place called Raviart. This area is part of the Tie-N'Diekro subprefecture in Ivory Coast. He studied law and became a business lawyer.
He has been a member of the PDCI-RDA party for a long time. He held many different jobs within the party. In 1999, he was chosen to be a member of the Economic and Social Council of Ivory Coast. This council advises the government on economic and social issues.
Becoming a Member of Parliament
In December 2000, Ahoussou-Kouadio was elected to the National Assembly of Ivory Coast. This is like being a member of parliament. He represented the area of Didievi and Tie-N'Diekro. In 2002, at a big meeting for his party, he became the Deputy Secretary-General for Legal Affairs. This meant he was in charge of legal matters for the party.

Minister of Industry and Justice
Under President Laurent Gbagbo, Ahoussou-Kouadio became the Minister of Industry. He worked to help businesses grow and develop the private sector. He held this job from August 2002 until December 2005.
In 2010, he helped with the presidential election campaign for Henri Konan Bédié. When Bédié supported Alassane Ouattara in the second round, Ahoussou-Kouadio also helped Ouattara's campaign. After the election, President Ouattara appointed him as the Minister of State for Justice and Human Rights in December 2010.
Serving as Prime Minister
On March 13, 2012, President Ouattara chose Ahoussou-Kouadio to be the Prime Minister. This was an important promise Ouattara had made to appoint someone from Bédié's party to this top position. As Prime Minister, he also continued to oversee justice matters.
However, he was Prime Minister for less than a year. On November 21, 2012, President Ouattara appointed Daniel Kablan Duncan to take his place. Duncan was also a member of the PDCI party. After this, Ahoussou-Kouadio was appointed as a Minister of State at the Presidency in January 2013.
Later Political Career
Ahoussou-Kouadio continued to serve in various capacities, showing his dedication to public service.
Regional Council and Senate President
Since 2013, Ahoussou-Kouadio has been the president of the Regional Council of Bélier Region. This means he helps lead the local government in that area. In January 2016, he became the Minister of State at the Presidency. In this role, he worked on political discussions and relationships with different government groups.
On April 10, 2018, he made history by becoming the very first president of the Senate of Ivory Coast. The Senate is an important part of the country's law-making body. He served in this role until October 2023.
Health and Recent Activities
In July 2020, while traveling in Europe for a health check-up, Ahoussou-Kouadio tested positive for COVID-19 in Germany. He recovered from this illness.
He did not win re-election to the Senate in the September 2023 elections.
