Jeffrey Garlett (born on August 3, 1989) is a former Australian rules football player. He played for the Melbourne Football Club and the Carlton Football Club. Both teams are part of the top-level Australian Football League (AFL). Jeff is also of Indigenous Australian heritage.

Early Football Days
Jeff Garlett started playing football in Burracoppin. Later, he played for the Swan Districts Football Club in 2007. This team is part of the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He lived with Anne and Maurice Embley, who were parents to many Swan Districts players. Jeff played 21 games for Swan Districts between 2007 and 2008.
Jeff's AFL Career
Playing for Carlton (2009–2014)
The Carlton Football Club chose Jeff Garlett for the AFL. He was the sixth player picked in the 2009 Rookie Draft. He joined his friend and teammate Chris Yarran at Carlton. Chris was also from Swan Districts.
Jeff played well in Carlton's 2009 NAB Cup games. He was then moved from the rookie list to the main team. He made his first AFL appearance in Round 1, 2009. This game was against Richmond at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He even scored a goal with his very first kick!
In 2009, Garlett played ten games for Carlton. He scored a total of twelve goals. In 2010, he became a regular player for Carlton. He scored a career-high six goals in one game against Essendon. Because of this great game, he was nominated for the NAB Rising Star award. He finished seventh in the voting for this award.
Jeff played twenty games that year. He also performed very well in the club's best and fairest award, finishing seventh. During this time, he was part of a group of small forwards. They were known as "Setanta's Little Helpers."
In 2011, Jeff signed a new two-year contract with Carlton. He played in every game that year. He kicked an amazing 50 goals for the season.
Playing for Melbourne (2015–2019)
On October 9, 2014, Jeff Garlett moved to the Melbourne Football Club. He played 78 games for Melbourne. In 2017, he was the team's leading goalkicker. After the 2019 season, Jeff finished his time with the Melbourne Football Club.

Jeff Garlett played as a small forward. This means he was good at picking up the ball when it hit the ground. His best skills were his speed and his strong tackling. Even though he was not a big player, his speed and pressure on opponents were very effective.
Jeff's Family Life
Jeff Garlett has many family members who also played Australian rules football. Some of his cousins include Lance Franklin, Cruize Garlett, and Des Headland. His uncle is Leon Davis. Jeff also has a son, who was born in 2012.
