Jeffrey P. DeMunn (born April 25, 1947) is an American actor. He has starred in many movies, TV shows, and plays. Some of his famous roles include Captain Esteridge in The Hitcher (1986) and Harry Terwilliger in The Green Mile (1999). He also played Dale Horvath in The Walking Dead and Charles Rhoades Sr. in Billions.

Early Life and Education
Jeffrey DeMunn was born in Buffalo, New York. His mother was Violet Paulus, and his father was James DeMunn. His stepmother was actress Betty Lutes DeMunn. He studied English at Union College and earned a degree.
Acting Career Highlights
Theatre Performances
In 1970, DeMunn moved to the United Kingdom. He trained to be an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. When he came back to the United States in 1972, he performed in plays like King Lear and A Midsummer Night's Dream. These plays were part of a Royal Shakespeare Company tour.
He also acted in many off-Broadway shows. These included Bent and Modigliani. In 1983, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his role in the play K2. More recently, he performed in Death of a Salesman in 2012 and A Family For All Occasions in 2013.
Movie Roles
Jeffrey DeMunn has often worked with director Frank Darabont. Darabont cast him in several movies. These include The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. He also appeared in the 1988 movie The Blob, which Darabont helped write. DeMunn has also read audiobooks for novels like Dreamcatcher.

DeMunn has been a guest star on many TV shows. His long list of TV roles includes shows like Kojak, Moonlighting, and The West Wing. He played Norman Rothenberg in Law & Order for several episodes.

DeMunn currently stars in the Showtime series Billions. He plays Chuck Rhoades Sr., who is the rich father of the main character.

Jeffrey DeMunn married Ann Sekjaer in 1974. They later divorced in 1995. In 2001, he married Kerry Leah.
