Jeffrey and Sloth is a fun Canadian children's book. It was written by Kari-Lynn Winters and illustrated by Ben Hodson. Orca Book Publishers released the book in March 2007.
Before becoming a book, this story first appeared in a magazine. It was in a 2004 issue of Chameleon, a children's magazine from the University of British Columbia. The story was called "Jeffrey's Wor(l)ds Meet Sloth" back then. Orca Book Publishers chose Jeffrey and Sloth from 1600 stories they received. It was one of only nine books they decided to publish in 2007. The story has even been turned into a play! A group called Tickle Trunk Players performed it in schools. They visited cities like Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.

Jeffrey and Sloth has won several awards and honors:

The Story of Jeffrey and Sloth
The book is about a boy named Jeffrey. He has a writing assignment to do. But Jeffrey can't think of how to start his story. Instead, he begins to doodle on his paper.
Suddenly, his doodle of a sloth comes to life! This new Sloth character is very bossy. Sloth starts telling Jeffrey what to do. Jeffrey tries to stand up to the strong-willed Sloth. As they argue, Jeffrey accidentally creates a whole story. In the end, he finishes his homework, all thanks to the bossy Sloth!
