Jenifer (Jeni) Mundy is an amazing English woman who has achieved a lot! She is known for being a skilled yachtswoman, a clever engineer in the world of phones and internet (telecoms), and a leader on company boards.
Jeni made history as the first female Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Vodafone, a huge phone company. Today, she is the Managing Director for the UK and Ireland at Visa, which is a company that helps people pay for things with cards.
In 2011, Jeni Mundy was chosen as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. This is a very special honor for engineers. She is also one of the few women who has competed twice in the tough Volvo Ocean Race, a famous sailing competition.

Jeni Mundy's Early Life and Education
Jeni Mundy was born in 1965. She went to a school called Lady Eleanor Holles School from 1971 to 1981. After that, she studied Maths and Philosophy at the University of East Anglia.
From Sailing to Engineering
After university, Jeni spent six years as a professional yachtswoman. During her time sailing, she learned how to fix electronic equipment on yachts. This experience made her interested in electronic engineering.
She then decided to go back to school. Jeni earned a Master's degree (MSc) in electronic engineering from Cardiff University.
A Career in Technology
In 1994, Jeni Mundy moved from the UK to New Zealand with her fiancé. There, she started her career in the telecoms industry. She began working for a company called Bellsouth as an RF engineer. An RF engineer works with radio frequencies, which are used for things like mobile phones and Wi-Fi.
Leading at Vodafone
By 2001, Jeni was leading the technology team at Vodafone New Zealand. This happened after Vodafone, a UK company, bought Bellsouth in 1998.
In 2007, she moved to the UK to become Vodafone's Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This meant she was in charge of all the technology for Vodafone in the UK. She finished her time at Vodafone as the Group Enterprise Director of Products and Innovations.
Joining Visa
In 2018, Jeni Mundy joined Visa. She is now the Managing Director for the UK and Ireland at Visa. In this role, she helps lead the company's operations in these countries.
Her Amazing Yachting Adventures
Jeni Mundy is a very talented sailor. She is one of only a few women who have competed twice in the challenging Volvo Ocean Race. This is a round-the-world yacht race that tests sailors' skills and endurance.
She first competed in the 1989-90 race on a boat called Maiden. Later, she raced again in the 1993-94 competition on the US Women's Challenge/Heineken boat.
Awards and Recognition
Jeni Mundy's achievements in engineering were recognized in 2011. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. This honor is given to engineers who have made important contributions to their field.
