She went to Lanark Grammar School for her education. After finishing school, Jenny worked as a secretary in offices located on Bath Street in Glasgow.
Family Life and Moving to Lenzie
Jenny met her future husband, Willie Coutts, at a place called the International Club. They got married and later had two sons.
In 1949, Jenny and her family moved to Lenzie. It was there that she started to get involved in local politics and community work. Both Jenny and Willie believed in peace and were pacifists during World War II. This meant they were against war and violence.
