Jenny Nimmo (born 15 January 1944) is a British author who writes books for kids. She writes exciting fantasy and adventure stories. She also writes chapter books and picture books for younger readers.

Jenny Nimmo was born in England. She has lived in Wales for over 40 years. She is famous for two fantasy book series. These are The Magician Trilogy and Children of the Red King. The Magician Trilogy uses old Welsh myths. Children of the Red King is about kids with magic powers.

Her book, The Snow Spider, won two awards. It won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize. It also won the Tir na n-Og Award in 1987. This award is for the best English book with a Welsh background. In December 2023, a movie based on the novel Midnight for Charlie Bone was announced. This movie is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios.
