Discovering Jerangle
Jerangle might be small, but it has important places that help the community. You can find a cemetery there, which is a place where people are buried. There are also two churches, where people go for religious services. The most important spot in Jerangle is its school.
Jerangle Public School
The school in Jerangle is called Jerangle Public School. It is a very special part of the community. This school has always had a small number of students. Usually, there are between 6 and 20 children attending.
A Look at the School's History
Jerangle Public School has a long history. It first started in 1884 as a "house to house" school. This means teachers would travel to different homes to teach students. Later, in 1892, the school found a permanent place to stay. For many years, until 1923, it often operated as a "half-time" school. This meant students might only attend for part of the day or week. Even with its small size, the school has been a key part of Jerangle for over a century.
Community Hubs
Besides the school, Jerangle has other important community spots. There is a hall for the Country Women's Association, often called the CWA. This group helps women in rural areas and often holds events in their halls. You can also find a public phone box, which is a useful spot for making calls in the area. These places help bring the people of Jerangle together.
