Jeremy James Lee, born on October 21, 1963, is a well-known British chef. He is the chef and owner of the famous Quo Vadis restaurant in London. Before this, he was the main chef at the Blueprint Café for 18 years.

Becoming a Chef

Jeremy Lee's first job in the food world was as a waiter. He worked at the Old Mansion House Hotel in Auchterhouse. Soon, he moved into the kitchen there. After three years, he went to London. In London, he worked with another famous chef, Simon Hopkinson, at a restaurant called Bibendum.

Later, Jeremy became the head chef at the Frith Street Restaurant. He also worked as the head chef at Euphorium. In 1994, he joined the Blueprint Café. This restaurant was owned by Terence Conran and located at the Design Museum. Jeremy Lee led the kitchen at the Blueprint Café for 18 years.

Quo Vadis and Beyond

In January 2012, Jeremy Lee became the head chef at Quo Vadis in Soho, London. Food writer Matthew Fort praised his cooking style. He said Jeremy brought his unique way of cooking from the Blueprint Café to Quo Vadis. Another food critic, Jay Rayner, called Jeremy "a good thing" in the London food scene. Everyone seemed to agree he was a great chef.

TV Appearances

Jeremy Lee has appeared on several TV shows. In 2007, he was a finalist on the BBC Two show Great British Menu. He also presented Could You Eat an Elephant? on Channel 4 with Fergus Henderson.

Later, Jeremy returned to Great British Menu as a judge. He judged the Wales contenders in 2013. In 2014, he judged the Scotland contenders. He was also a judge for the North East region in 2017. In 2018, he judged the Northern Ireland chefs.

Awards and Recognition

In 2002, Jeremy Lee was recognized for his writing. He was shortlisted for an award at the Glenfiddich Awards. This was for his cooking articles in Guardian Weekend. In 2013, his restaurant, Quo Vadis, won an award. Tatler magazine named it the Best Kitchen.
