Jeremy Zuckerman (born July 31, 1975) is an American composer. He creates music for concerts, films, and TV shows. He is most famous for writing the music for the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel, The Legend of Korra.

Learning Music
Jeremy Zuckerman started playing piano when he was five years old. His mom was his first teacher. As a teenager, he played guitar and synthesizer in different bands.
He later studied jazz and computer music at the Berklee College of Music. He earned a bachelor's degree there. Then, he went to the California Institute of the Arts for his master's degree. There, he focused on modern music and sound art.
His Music Career
Music for TV and Movies
Jeremy Zuckerman began his career creating music for television and films. In 2004, he started a company called The Track Team with Benjamin Wynn.
Zuckerman wrote the music for the highly praised TV show, Avatar: The Last Airbender. This show won a Peabody Award in 2008. He also composed the music for the sequel series, The Legend of Korra. His music can also be heard in several DC Comics animated shorts. These include The Spectre and Green Arrow.
Together, Zuckerman and Wynn created music for movies like Just Peck. They also worked on the Nickelodeon TV series Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.
In 2017, after winning two Emmy Awards, Zuckerman and Wynn decided to work on their own projects.
After that, Zuckerman scored the first three seasons of the TV show Scream. He also composed music for PBS documentaries like Nature: Snow Monkeys. Other documentaries he worked on include Beartrek.
More recently, he worked on the 2020 film Horse Girl. He also composed for an episode of the experimental Showtime series Cinema Toast. These were collaborations with Josiah Steinbrick.
In 2023, Zuckerman helped compose the music for the film Postcard from Earth. This movie was made for and shown at Sphere in Las Vegas.
The Echo Society
Jeremy Zuckerman is a founder of The Echo Society. This is a group of artists in Los Angeles. They create and perform new music and visual art. The group aims to bring people together through art.
Zuckerman's music for The Echo Society often uses chamber music style. He creates unique sounds using a mix of computer processes and his own ideas. He uses traditional orchestral instruments. His work explores how sounds can change and become complex.
Music for Dance
Zuckerman has also created music for modern dance performances. He worked with choreographer Benjamin Levy on pieces like Everyone, Intimate, Alone, Visibly. He also composed the score for Lisa Wahlander's dance piece The Impermanent Sky. For this, he performed the music live using a special computer program.
