The Story of Jerry

Where is Jerry?

Jerry is located in the northeastern part of Asotin County, in the state of Washington. It's a place where two creeks, Asotin Creek and George Creek, meet. Because of this meeting point, the area was once called Grand Junction.

How Jerry Got Its Name

The name "Jerry" was chosen on August 1, 1906, by a person named John Knight. He named it in honor of Jerry McGuire, a stock rancher who had owned land in the area since 1875. So, the community is named after a local cattleman who was important to the area's early days.

A Look at Its Past

Jerry once had its own post office. This post office opened in 1906, the same year the community was officially named. It helped people send and receive mail in the area for several years before it closed down in 1918.
