Poppy Restaurant
In December 2007, Jerry Traunfeld announced he was opening a new restaurant in Seattle. He named it Poppy after his mother. The restaurant opened in late 2008. At Poppy, the food was inspired by herbs and spices, but it was meant to be food people could enjoy every day. It focused on local and seasonal ingredients, served in small tasting dishes, similar to Indian Thali meals. Jerry Traunfeld closed Poppy and retired in 2019.
