Jesús is a special district found in the Itapúa Department of Paraguay. It is famous for its old Jesuit Mission. This mission is called the Ruins of Jesús de Tavarangue.
In 1993, the mission became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This means it is a very important place for everyone to protect. Many tourists visit this amazing historical site each year.
Where is Jesús Located?
Jesús is easy to find in Paraguay. It is about 10 kilometers from Ruta 6, which is a main road. It is also 40 kilometers north of Encarnación. Encarnación is the capital city of the Itapúa Department.
Jesús is surrounded by other districts:
- Hohenau is to its east and north-east.
- La Paz is to its west and north-west.
- Capitán Miranda is to its west.
- Trinidad is to its south.
How Many People Live in Jesús?
In 2017, a study was done by the Dirección General de Estadísticas, Encuestas y Censos. This study showed that about 6,363 people lived in the Jesús district.
