Jesús Alfonso Blázquez González (born in Cebreros, Ávila, in 1962) is a Spanish historian, writer, and librarian. He studies history and works with documents and books.
About His Life
Jesús Blázquez studied at the School of Geography and History at the Complutense University of Madrid. He earned a special degree called a Master's Degree in Library Science and Documentation from the National Library of Spain. This means he learned a lot about how libraries work and how to organize information.
He has traveled to many countries for seminars and conferences. These include Spain, Austria, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Mr. Blázquez combines his work with documents and books with his passion for history. He has written many articles about history. For many years, he has focused on studying the history of writers and literary groups in Spain. He looks at the time between a period called the "Crisis of 1898" and the start of a major conflict in 1936.
He wrote a book called Miguel de Unamuno y Bernardo G. de Candamo: Amistad y Epistolario (1899-1936). This book tells the story of a friendship between two important figures, Miguel de Unamuno and Bernardo G. de Candamo. Their friendship lasted for almost 40 years!
The book has two main parts. First, it tells the story of their friendship through the life of Candamo, who is less known. It shows how his life connected with Miguel de Unamuno's life. The second part of the book shares the actual letters they wrote to each other. There are 97 letters, and most of them had never been seen by the public before. These letters help us understand their friendship directly.
