Jesse "Babyface" Thomas (born February 3, 1911 – died August 13, 1995) was an American Texas blues musician. He was a talented guitarist and singer. People knew him by nicknames like "Baby Face" or "Mule." Sometimes, he was even called "The Blues Troubadour." Jesse Thomas played blues music for a very long time, almost eighty years!

Jesse Thomas's Musical Journey

Jesse Thomas was born in Logansport, Louisiana. He became famous for his song "Blue Goose Blues." He recorded this song way back in 1929 for a company called Victor Records.

He kept recording and performing music through the 1940s and 1950s. During this time, he lived and worked mostly around the Los Angeles area. In 1953, he recorded music for another company called Specialty Records.

His music career lasted for more than 60 years. In 1994, just a year before he passed away, he performed at the Long Beach Blues Festival. This shows how long he was active in music!

Jesse Thomas came from a musical family. His brother, Ramblin' Thomas, was also a Texas blues musician. His nephew, Lafayette Thomas, was another great blues guitar player from Louisiana.

Jesse Thomas lived for many years in the Lakeside neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away there on August 15, 1995, when he was 84 years old.
