Starting Her Career

Jill began her journey in journalism in 1984. She started as a trainee at ABC radio. She worked hard and became a senior reporter for a show called The 7.30 Report on ABC TV.

Working in TV and Newspapers

Later, Jill became the presenter for the Victorian version of Today Tonight on the Seven Network. She also presented other ABC TV shows like The Arts Show, 2-shot, and People Dimensions.

Jill was also an executive producer for ABC TV's national morning news program, First Edition. This means she was in charge of making sure the show ran smoothly.

From 1997 to 2012, Jill wrote a weekly column for the Herald Sun newspaper in Melbourne. She also taught television journalism at RMIT University in Melbourne. She often appeared on ABC 774's The Conversation Hour and Sky News Australia's Melbourne Report.

Later Life

Jill Singer passed away on June 8, 2017, in Melbourne. She was 60 years old. She died from a serious illness called amyloidosis.
