James Moody (born September 25, 1949) is an American actor. He has appeared in many movies and TV shows. He often plays strong or serious characters.
One of his first big movie roles was in the 1980 film Fame. In this movie, he played Mr. Farrell, a drama teacher. He also played Gene Daniels, a tough counselor, in the 1983 film Bad Boys. Later, he was in The Last Dragon as Leroy Greene, Sr.

Jim Moody has also been a guest star on several popular TV shows. He appeared in a few episodes of Law & Order. In each episode, he played a different character.
