James Moody, born on September 25, 1949, is an American actor. He is known for playing many different kinds of characters in movies and on TV shows. He often takes on roles that help tell the story, even if they are not the main character.
One of his first big movie roles was in the 1980 film Fame. In this movie, he played Mr. Farrell, a drama teacher. He also appeared in the 1983 movie Bad Boys as Gene Daniels, a counselor and teacher. Later, he was in the comedy film D.C. Cab in 1983, playing a character named Arnie. He also appeared in The Best Man in 1999 and as Leroy Greene, Sr. in The Last Dragon.
James Moody has also been a guest star on many popular TV shows. He appeared in several episodes of Law & Order, playing a different character each time. He also had roles in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Third Watch, and New York Undercover.
Moody grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia. Besides acting, he was also a drama teacher at the LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts. One of his well-known students there was the actor Adrien Brody. Today, James Moody works as a private drama coach and continues to act. He lives in New York.
