James Armstead (born September 8, 1919 – died November 9, 2006) was an amazing American baseball player. He played as an outfielder and a pitcher in the Negro leagues. These leagues were special baseball leagues for African American players. They played in these leagues when they were not allowed to play in the major leagues. Jimmie played from 1938 to 1942 and again from 1946 to 1951. He played for several different teams during his career. Sometimes, you might even see his name spelled as Jimmie Armistead.
