Benjamin James Jones (born November 16, 1919 – died 1976) was a Welsh footballer. People often called him Jimmy. He was known for playing as a left-back and sometimes as a winger.

Playing for Football Clubs
Jimmy Jones started his football journey in 1934. He signed with a team called Slough Town. While playing for Slough, Jimmy was very versatile. He could play as a left-back, which is a defensive player. He also played as a winger, who runs down the sides of the field to help score goals.
Football During Wartime
During World War II, many things changed. Jimmy went back to his home in Wales. He became a Bevin Boy, which meant he worked in the coal mines. This was a very important job during the war. While working in the mines, he still played local football. He played for a team called Rhondda Working Men’s Club. During this time, Jimmy got sick and had to spend six months in the hospital.
Joining Watford F.C.
After the war, in September 1947, Jimmy joined Watford. He played for Watford for six seasons. During his time there, he played in 158 Football League games. This included an amazing streak where he played in 47 games in a row! After taking a year off from football, Jimmy signed with Chelmsford City in July 1955.
Playing for His Country
In 1947, Jimmy Jones also had the chance to play for his country. He made two appearances for the Wales Amateurs team. These games were against the England Amateurs team.
