João Maria Manzarra is a well-known television host from Portugal. He is famous for hosting many popular shows, especially on the SIC Radical network. Many people know him as the co-host of Ídolos, which is the Portuguese version of the Idol series. He hosted this singing competition for three years and became one of the most popular TV presenters in Portugal.

João Manzarra's TV Career
João Manzarra studied communication at the university. However, he stopped his studies early to start his first big TV show. For about two and a half years, he hosted a show called Curto Circuito. This was a live show where he talked directly to viewers without a script. He became very popular because of it.
In 2009, he co-hosted SIC ao Vivo with José Figueiras and Liliana Campos. After that, he also co-hosted TGV (which stands for Todos Gostam do Verão, meaning "Everyone Likes Summer") with Carolina Patrocínio.
Hosting Ídolos and Other Shows
From 2009 onwards, João Manzarra hosted Ídolos, the Portuguese version of the Idol series. He co-hosted it with Cláudia Vieira for three seasons in a row. This show was very popular and helped him become famous across Portugal. In 2010, he was even nominated for a "Revelation of the Year" award at the Portuguese Golden Globes.
After his success with Ídolos, he hosted another popular show on SIC called Achas que Sabes Dançar?. This was the Portuguese version of the So You Think You Can Dance series, which started in April 2010.
Because he is so popular, João Manzarra has also worked with many brands for commercials. He also helps out with charity work.
