Early Life and Education

Jo Fraser grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. She attended George Watson's College for her early education. Later, she studied Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. She earned a first-class Honours degree, which is a top achievement.

Travel and Inspiration

In 2011, Jo Fraser won the BP Portrait Travel Award. This amazing opportunity allowed her to travel to Peru. She spent two months living with the Quechua people in a small mountain village called Patacancha. The Quechua are an indigenous community known for their weaving skills. Jo was inspired by their culture and created many artworks based on her experiences there. Her paintings from Peru were shown at the BP Portrait Award exhibition in London in 2012.

Special Art Projects

Jo Fraser has also worked on some exciting public art projects.

  • In 2011, she was asked by Harvey Nichols, a famous store, to design and paint a sculpture. This sculpture was for a charity event called "The Elephant Family." Her artwork was displayed above the main entrance of the Harvey Nichols store in Edinburgh.
  • In 2014, she designed and painted a special Faberge egg for "The Big Faberge Egg Hunt" in New York City. Her egg was shown in Bryant Park, a well-known park in the city.
