Joanne Bunting was born on 7 June 1974 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is a politician from the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). Since 2016, she has been a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for the area of Belfast East. As an MLA, she helps make decisions for Northern Ireland. Joanne Bunting is also the DUP's main speaker for Justice matters. She leads the Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Justice.

Joanne Bunting went to Braniel Primary School. She then attended Grosvenor High School. Her education helped prepare her for a career in public service.

Serving Her Community

Before becoming an MLA, Joanne Bunting worked as a local politician. She was a Councillor in Castlereagh for 11 years. This was from 2000 to 2011.
