Joaquín López-Dóriga Velandia is a well-known Mexican journalist. He was born on February 8, 1947. People sometimes call him "El Teacher," which means "The Teacher."

He started his career very young. At just 18 years old, he began working for a newspaper called El Heraldo de México. A couple of years later, he joined a famous TV news program called 24 Horas with Jacobo Zabludovsky. In 1988, he became the news director for Instituto Mexicano de la Televisión, also known as Imevisión.

Joaquín López-Dóriga became a familiar face on television. He hosted a popular late-night news show called El Noticiero con Joaquín López-Dóriga. This show was on Canal de las Estrellas, a major TV channel.

He also has a radio talk show called López-Dóriga on the Radio Fórmula Network. Besides that, he writes articles for Milenio Diario and is part of another talk show called Tercer Grado. He is also a member of the Consultant Council for the CNDH. This commission works to protect human rights in Mexico.
