Charles Albert "Joe" Green (born July 26, 1878 – died September 18, 1962) was an American baseball outfielder. He was also a manager in early baseball leagues. These leagues were for African-American players before the major leagues were integrated. He played in the pre-Negro leagues and the start of the Negro National League.

Early Baseball Career
Joe Green started his baseball journey in 1900. His first team was the Chicago Clippers. He played for them at the very beginning of the 20th century.
Playing for Different Teams
In 1903, Joe Green joined the Columbia Giants. After that, he played for the Chicago Union Giants. He also spent time with the Leland Giants. Joe Green was a talented player who moved between several teams.
Leading the Chicago Giants
Joe Green spent most of his playing career with the Chicago Giants. He was not just a player for this team. He also became their manager. He took over as manager after Frank Leland passed away on November 14, 1914. Joe Green led the team for many years.
Joe Green's Own Team
Later in his life, Joe Green created his own baseball team. He named it "Joe Green's Chicago Giants." This team often included popular former players. Many of these players had been stars in the Negro leagues. They played in the pre-Negro leagues as well.
