Joseph Lewman Ware (born June 5, 1913 – died January 10, 1994) was a cool baseball player. People often called him "Showboat." He played as an outfielder in the Negro Leagues during the 1930s.

Joseph Lewman Ware was born in Greenwood, South Carolina. He grew up and went to Westinghouse High School. He was also good at sports in college! He played college football for Howard University.

Joe Ware started his professional baseball career in 1932. He played in the Negro Leagues. These leagues were for African American players when they were not allowed to play in Major League Baseball.
