Johanna Sophia Wilhelmine Caroline Vogt (born June 16, 1862 – died March 12, 1944) was an important German woman who worked for equal rights. She was a suffragette, which means she believed women should have the right to vote. Johanna Vogt was also the very first woman to join the city council of Kassel in 1919.

Helping Shape the Church
From 1922 to 1923, Johanna Vogt played another important role. She was part of a special group that helped create a new set of rules for the regional church in Hessen-Cassel. This group had six members, and Johanna was the only woman among them. They worked to bring different Christian churches together under one new constitution.
Remembering Johanna Vogt
Johanna Vogt passed away during a bombing raid in Berlin on March 12, 1944. To honor her memory and her important work, a street in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe is named after her. It is called Marbachshöhe.
