John Barnet began his journey as a bishop in 1361. He was chosen to be the Bishop of Worcester around December 16, 1361. After being chosen, he was officially made a bishop on March 20, 1362. This special ceremony is called a consecration.
Moving to Bath and Wells
After serving as Bishop of Worcester, John Barnet moved to a new role. He became the Bishop of Bath and Wells around November 28, 1363. When a bishop "translates" to a new see, it means they move to lead a different church area.
Serving as Lord High Treasurer
