John Lewis Harvey was born on December 28, 1966. He is a former American football player. Harvey played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He spent one season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

John Harvey showed great talent in football from a young age. He played for his high school team and later in college.
High School Achievements
Harvey attended Spring Valley High School in Spring Valley, New York. He was an amazing player there. John still holds three important school records:
- Most Career Rushing Yards: He gained 3,118 yards in total.
- Most Rushing Yards in a Season: He ran for 1,587 yards in one season.
- Most Rushing Touchdowns in a Game: He scored 6 touchdowns in a single game!
College Career
After finishing high school in 1984, Harvey went to college. He played football for the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He was part of the UTEP Miners football team.
Professional Football
After his time at UTEP, John Harvey hoped to play in the NFL. He was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1989. This means he joined the team without being chosen in the main NFL draft. He played as a running back and also returned kickoffs. During the 1990 NFL season, he scored one touchdown for the Buccaneers.
