John Jordan is an Irish judge. He has been a judge in the High Court since February 2019. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a barrister. A barrister is a lawyer who represents people in court.
Early Life and Education
John Jordan grew up in Castlebar, a town in County Mayo, Ireland. He went to secondary school at St Gerald's College. After school, he decided to study law. He attended University College Dublin and later the King's Inns. The King's Inns is a special place where lawyers in Ireland get their training.
Legal Career
John Jordan became a barrister in 1985. This means he was officially allowed to represent people in court. In 2011, he became a senior counsel. A senior counsel is a very experienced and respected barrister.
Before he became a senior counsel, Mr. Jordan worked as a State Prosecutor. He worked in the Circuit Court in County Mayo. In this role, he represented the state in legal cases.
