Johnny Ray Lovick (born May 9, 1951) is an American politician and former police officer. He is currently a member of the Washington State Senate. He represents the 44th district and has been in this role since 2021. Mr. Lovick is a member of the Democratic Party. He was chosen in December 2021 to fill a spot left open when Steve Hobbs became the Washington Secretary of State.

John Lovick has had many important jobs in public service. He has worked as a police officer and a politician.
Early Career and Law Enforcement
Mr. Lovick served in the Washington House of Representatives for several years. He was a representative from 1999 to 2007 and again from 2016 to 2021. He also worked as the sheriff for Snohomish County. Before that, he was on the city council for Mill Creek.
Since 1997, Mr. Lovick has been a sergeant with the Washington State Patrol. This means he has a lot of experience in law enforcement.
Leading Snohomish County
From 2013 to 2016, John Lovick was the Snohomish County Executive. This is a top leadership role for the county. He was appointed to this position after the previous executive resigned. He ran for election in 2015 but did not win.
Making Laws in Washington
In 2021, Mr. Lovick proposed his first bill as a state senator. A bill is a proposed law. His bill suggested making Pickleball the official sport of Washington. This bill passed and became official in March 2022. In the 2022 election, Mr. Lovick won a full term in the state Senate. He received more than 58% of the votes.
