Johnny Ray Lovick (born May 9, 1951) is an American politician and former law enforcement officer. He currently serves as a member of the Washington State Senate. He represents the 44th district since 2021.
Mr. Lovick is a member of the Democratic Party. He was chosen in December 2021 to fill a spot in the Senate. This spot became open when Steve Hobbs left to become Washington's Secretary of State.

Public Service and Political Roles
Mr. Lovick has had a long career in public service. He has worked in both law enforcement and government. He served in the Washington House of Representatives at different times. He was a representative from 1999 to 2007 and again from 2016 to 2021.
Leadership in Snohomish County
He also served as the sheriff for Snohomish County. Later, he was the Snohomish County Executive from 2013 to 2016. This role is like being the chief executive officer for the county government. Before these roles, he was a member of the Mill Creek city council.
Law Enforcement Career
Beyond his political roles, Mr. Lovick has a background in law enforcement. He has been a sergeant with the Washington State Patrol since 1997. This shows his dedication to public safety.
Making Laws in Washington
During the 2021 legislative session, Mr. Lovick proposed an interesting bill. His bill suggested making Pickleball the official sport of Washington state. This bill passed and became official in March 2022. In the 2022 general election, Mr. Lovick won a full term in the state Senate. He received more than 58% of the votes.
