A Sweet Start: The History of Millar's
The story of John Millar & Sons began way back in 1844. A man named John Millar first opened a bakery in a place called Leith, in Scotland.
Soon after starting his bakery, John Millar decided to try something new. He began making sweets right there in the back room of his shop! These sweets quickly became very popular.
Millar's became well-known for many different kinds of treats. Some of their most famous sweets included Pan Drops, yummy Chocolate Eclairs, and classic boiled sweets like Blackcurrant & Liquorice. The company continued making these popular candies for many years.
In 2006, John Millar & Sons joined forces with another sweet company called McCowan’s. Together, they became known as Millar McCowan.
