John Oceguera was born in 1968 in Reno, Nevada. He is a politician from the Democratic Party. He served in the Nevada Assembly from 2001 to 2013.

Mr. Oceguera represented District 16 in Clark County. In 2011, he was chosen to be the Speaker of the Assembly. He is a member of the Walker River Paiute tribe. This made him the first Native American to serve as Speaker in Nevada's history.
