John Trailly was an important English soldier and diplomat who lived a long time ago. He was known for his work in France during a big war called the Hundred Years' War. He also held important jobs like being the Seneschal of Gascony and the Mayor of Bordeaux.

John Trailly's Life and Career

John Trailly was the oldest son of a man also named John Trailly. He played a part in the wars that English Kings Richard II and Henry IV fought in France. These wars were part of the long conflict known as the Hundred Years' War.

He was chosen to be a Member of Parliament for Bedfordshire in 1377 and again in 1381. This meant he helped make important decisions for the country.

John Trailly also traveled with important people. He was with Thomas of Woodstock, who was a Duke, in 1377. Later, in 1386, he went to Spain with John of Gaunt, another powerful Duke.

He had very important jobs in France. He was the Seneschal of Gascony twice, from 1389 to 1390 and again in 1397. A Seneschal was like a governor or a chief officer in a region. He was also the Mayor of Bordeaux, a major city in France, from 1389 until he passed away in 1400.

John Trailly was married to a woman named Joan. Her parents were Thomas Aylesbury and Joan Basset. John and Joan had one known child:
