Johnson, Ohio facts for kids
Johnson is a small, unincorporated community located in Fayette County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or a village. Instead, it's usually part of a larger county or township.
Exploring Johnson's Past
This community was once known by a slightly different name: Johnsons Crossing. It got its name from John Johnson, Sr., who was the first owner of the land where the community grew. In the early days, a general store was an important part of Johnsons Crossing. General stores were like today's supermarkets, but much smaller, selling a little bit of everything that people needed. They were also important meeting places for people in the community.
