Jonathan Gresham (born March 20, 1988) is an American professional wrestler. He is known for his technical wrestling style, often called "The Octopus" because of how he ties up his opponents. He has wrestled for many wrestling companies, including Ring of Honor (ROH), All Elite Wrestling (AEW), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). In ROH, he was a ROH World Champion, ROH Pure Champion, and ROH World Tag Team Champion. He also held the CZW World Heavyweight Championship in Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and the Progress World Championship in Progress Wrestling.

Early Life and Training
Jonathan Gresham was born on March 20, 1988, in Atlanta, Georgia. Before becoming a professional wrestler, he competed in amateur wrestling until he was 17. Some of the wrestlers who inspired him were Rey Mysterio, Hayabusa, and Jushin Thunder Liger.
Gresham trained with Mr. Hughes, Jay Fury, and at the WWA4 wrestling school in Atlanta. His first wrestling match was in Douglasville, Georgia, when he was only 16 years old.
Professional Wrestling Career
Starting Out (2005–2019)
Gresham began his career wrestling for many different independent wrestling companies. He often used different ring names, like Jonathan Davis and Hero Tiger.
He wrestled for Booker T's Pro Wrestling Alliance (now Reality of Wrestling) and won the PWA Iron Man Championship in 2010. Gresham also competed in Full Impact Pro and Evolve, facing wrestlers like Matt Riddle.
In 2015, he won the Desastre Total Ultraviolento's Alto Rendimiento title. He also competed in the International Wrestling Cartel (IWC) and won the IWC Super Indy title in 2017. Gresham had several big matches in Beyond Wrestling, including defeating Zack Sabre Jr. twice in 2016. He also became the first-ever Independent Champion in October 2017.
Chikara (2010–2012)
In 2010, Gresham joined Chikara and teamed up with a group called The Osirian Portal. He wrestled as Hieracon and wore a mask. The group had success, but later broke up. Gresham's last match in Chikara was against Ophidian, who took his mask after the match.
Combat Zone Wrestling (2010–2017)
Gresham also wrestled for Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), a company known for its intense matches. In 2016, he won the Best of the Best 15 tournament. Later that year, he won the CZW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. He held the title until December 2016.
Westside Xtreme Wrestling (2011–2022)
Gresham wrestled in Germany for Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw). In 2012, he formed a tag team called RockSkillet with Jay Skillet. They won the wXw World Tag Team Championship and held it for several months. In 2022, Gresham won the prestigious 16 Carat Gold Tournament.
Pro Wrestling Zero1 (2012–2017)
Gresham also competed in Pro Wrestling Zero1 in Japan and its American affiliate, Zero1 USA. He won the Zero1 USA Midwest X-Division Championship in 2013.
Ring of Honor and All Elite Wrestling (2011–2022)
Gresham first appeared in Ring of Honor (ROH) in 2011. He signed a contract with ROH in 2017. He formed a group called Search and Destroy with Jay White, Chris Sabin, and Alex Shelley.
Becoming a Champion (2019–2022)
In 2019, Gresham teamed with Jay Lethal to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
In 2020, ROH brought back the ROH Pure Championship, a title focused on technical wrestling rules. Gresham won a tournament to become the new Pure Champion. He then formed a group called The Foundation with Jay Lethal, Rhett Titus, and Tracy Williams.
In September 2021, Gresham lost the Pure Championship. However, he went on to win the vacant ROH World Championship in December 2021. In April 2022, he defeated Bandido to become the undisputed ROH World Champion.
Later in 2022, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) bought ROH. Gresham appeared on AEW shows. In July 2022, he joined a new group called The Embassy. He lost his ROH World Championship to Claudio Castagnoli at Death Before Dishonor. Gresham then left AEW and ROH.
Impact Wrestling / Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2022–2025)
In December 2022, Gresham returned to Impact Wrestling (now TNA Wrestling). He signed a contract with the company. He competed in many matches, including a 5-way Ultimate X match at Impact Slammiversary in 2023. He also challenged for the TNA World Championship in November 2023 but did not win.
Gresham continued to wrestle for TNA throughout 2024, facing many top stars like Kushida, Sami Callihan, and Josh Alexander. His contract with TNA ended in January 2025, making him a free agent.
Progress Wrestling (2022)
In March 2022, Gresham won the Progress World Championship in England. He lost the title later that year due to interference in a match.
Personal Life
Jonathan Gresham is married to fellow professional wrestler, Jordynne Grace. They got engaged in December 2018 and married in September 2020.
