He also stays in the local area after being overthrown. When other farmers try to take back Animal Farm, they don't let Mr. Jones join them. Instead, he gets some dynamite. He carelessly causes an explosion that destroys the windmill, and he is caught in the blast.

The 1999 Live-Action Movie

Pete Postlethwaite played Mr. Jones in the 1999 live-action film. In this movie, he is shown as a mean and careless farmer. He owes a lot of money and is not respected by his neighbors. In this version, both Mr. Jones and Mrs. Jones destroy the windmill together. After that, they leave the area. The film does not show what happens to them later.
