Jones Academy first opened its doors in 1891. It has been helping students learn and grow for over a century. In 2006, the school planned to build a new elementary building. This new facility is about 40,273-square-foot (3,741.5 m2), providing a modern space for younger students.

Learning at Jones Academy

Younger students, from grades 1 to 6, attend elementary school right at Jones Academy. The Hartshorne Public Schools helps oversee what these younger students learn.

For older students, in grades 7 through 12, Jones Academy acts as their home. These students attend the public schools in Hartshorne. Because the school provides teaching only for grades 1-6, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) counts it as a school for those grades.
