Jorge Argueta facts for kids
Jorge Argueta is a talented poet and author from El Salvador. He is known for writing many wonderful children's books and short stories. Growing Up in El Salvador
Jorge Argueta grew up in a town called Santo Domingo de Guzmán in El Salvador. His grandmother was a traditional healer who shared many stories from their indigenous heritage. These stories taught him about the special connection between people and nature. This helped him learn to respect the environment and value old stories passed down by speaking, not just writing.
As a child, Jorge helped his parents with their small restaurant in the city. He also spent time in the countryside, helping his grandparents on their farm. When he was 19, he left El Salvador because of difficult times in the country.
