Jorge Goeters (born June 26, 1970) is a famous Mexican racecar driver. He is known for winning many championships. Today, Goeters races full-time in the NASCAR Mexico Series. He has also raced in big international events. These include the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and Champ Car World Series. He even won a special starting spot (called a pole position) in his first NASCAR Busch Series race in Mexico City.
Starting His Racing Journey
Jorge Goeters began racing at a very young age. When he was just 8 years old, he started in motocross. This is a type of racing with motorcycles on dirt tracks. He won many championships in Mexico. He also won international motocross events.
In 1993, he switched from motorcycles to car racing. Just three years later, in 1996, he won his first national car racing championship. This was in the Prototypes category. The next year, he won the Mexican Trans-Am series.
In 1998, Jorge went to race in the United States. He joined the Indy Lights championship. He had a good first year there. He earned one pole position and finished in the top five twice. He also finished in the top ten two times.
After racing in the US, he returned to Mexico. He competed in the Mexican Formula 2 Championship in 2001. In 2002, he won the MasterCard Truck Series Championship. In 2004, he raced in the first season of the Desafío Corona series. He finished 4th in that championship.
Racing in NASCAR and Around the World
The year 2005 was very busy and successful for Jorge Goeters. He won the championship in the Desafío Corona series. He also made his first starts in NASCAR and other major racing series.
One of his biggest moments was in his first NASCAR Busch Series race. This was the 2005 Telcel Motorola 200 in Mexico City. He won the pole position, meaning he started the race in first place. He led the race for 24 laps. However, his engine broke down, and he had to stop racing. Later that year, he raced in two more Busch Series events. His best finish was 9th place at Watkins Glen International.
In 2005, he also raced in the Champ Car World Series in Monterrey, Mexico. He had to stop early due to mechanical problems. He also made his only start in the top NASCAR series, the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series. This race was at Watkins Glen. He led some laps but finished 35th after a small crash.
After his busy 2005 season, Jorge wanted to keep racing in the United States. In 2006, he raced in a few more Busch Series events. He finished 14th in the Mexico City race. He also raced in the ARCA Re/Max Series at Chicagoland Speedway. He started 19th and finished 7th in that race.
In 2007, Jorge Goeters raced in the NASCAR Busch Series again. He was known as a "road course ringer." This means he was good at racing on tracks with turns, not just ovals. He had strong qualifying runs in three races. His best finish was 7th in Mexico City. He also raced in the A1 Grand Prix series for Team Mexico. That year, he raced full-time in the NASCAR Corona Series in Mexico. He won a race in Guadalajara and finished 6th in the championship.
In 2008, he continued to race full-time in the NASCAR Corona Series. He finished 6th in the championship again. In 2012, Jorge Goeters became the champion of the NASCAR Toyota Series.

Jorge Goeters comes from a family of racers. His brothers, Patrick Goeters and Eduardo, are also successful racecar drivers. They have competed in many racing categories in Mexico, including the NASCAR Corona Series.
