Jorge Goeters (born June 26, 1970) is a famous Mexican racecar driver. He has competed in many different racing series. He is known for winning championships and for his strong starts in races.
Today, Goeters races full-time in the NASCAR Mexico Series. He has also raced in big international events like the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and NASCAR Busch Series. One of his most memorable moments was winning the pole position in the first-ever Busch Series race held in Mexico City.

Starting His Racing Journey
Goeters began his racing career very early, at just 8 years old. He started in motocross, which is dirt bike racing. He won many championships in Mexico and other countries in motocross.
In 1993, he switched from bikes to cars. By 1996, he won his first national car racing championship in the Prototypes category. The next year, he won the Mexican Trans-Am series. In 1998, he went to the United States to race.
Racing in the United States
In 1998, Goeters had a good first year in the Indy Lights championship. He earned one pole position, which means he started the race from the very front. He also had two top-five finishes and two top-ten finishes.
After racing in the U.S., he returned to Mexico. He competed in the Mexican Formula 2 Championship in 2001. In 2002, he raced in the MasterCard Truck Series Championship.
In 2004, he joined the first season of the Desafío Corona stock car series. He finished 4th overall in that championship.
Racing in NASCAR and Other Big Series
In 2004, Goeters tried to enter a NASCAR West Series race but did not qualify. When he returned to the West Series in 2005, he made the race and finished 10th.
A Big Year in 2005
The year 2005 was very exciting for Jorge Goeters. He won the championship in the Desafío Corona series. He also made his first starts in NASCAR and Grand-Am races. He even raced once in the Champ Car World Series.
Goeters won a very popular pole position in his first NASCAR Busch Series race. This happened during the 2005 Telcel Motorola 200 in Mexico City. He led 24 laps in that race. Later, he had to stop racing due to an engine problem. He raced in two more Busch Series races in 2005. His best finish was 9th place at Watkins Glen International.
He also made his only start in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series at Watkins Glen. He led some laps but finished 35th after a small crash near the end. In 2005, he also raced in the Rolex Sports Car Series.
Continuing His Career
After his successful 2005 season, Goeters wanted to keep racing in the United States. In 2006, he raced in a few more Busch Series events. He finished 14th in the Mexico City race. He also raced in the ARCA Re/Max Series and finished 7th.
In 2007, Goeters raced in the NASCAR Busch Series on road courses. He had strong qualifying performances in these races. His best finish was 7th at the Mexico City race. He also raced in the Rolex Sports Car Series and the A1 Grand Prix series for Team Mexico. He raced full-time in the NASCAR Corona Series in Mexico, winning a race and finishing 7th in the championship.
In 2008, he continued to race full-time in Mexico. He finished 6th in the NASCAR Corona Series.
In 2009, during a Corona Series race, there was an incident involving another driver, Carlos Pardo. The race results were counted from the previous lap, and Pardo was declared the winner.
In 2012, Jorge Goeters became the champion of the NASCAR Toyota Series.

Jorge Goeters comes from a racing family. His brothers, Patrick and Eduardo, are also successful racecar drivers in Mexico. They have competed in many of the same racing categories, including the NASCAR Corona Series.
