Jorge Pedreros (born August 8, 1942 – died September 14, 2013) was a famous Chilean musician, producer, actor, and comedian. He is best known for helping create the very popular comedy TV show Jappening con Ja. He worked on this show with his friends Eduardo Ravani and Fernando Alarcón.

Jorge Pedreros was born in Santiago, Chile, on August 8, 1942. He was married to Gladys del Río starting in 1967. They were together until he passed away in 2013. Jorge Pedreros died on September 14, 2013, at the age of 71, after an illness.

Jorge Pedreros's Music Career

Jorge Pedreros was a very important person in the early days of Chilean rock music. This style of music was called La Nueva Ola, which means "The New Wave".

Starting with The Lyons

In 1958, he was a keyboard player and helped start a band called The Lyons. This band played music for the singer Peter Rock. In 1961, the band changed its name to Los Twisters when a new singer, Luis Dimas, joined them.

Writing Famous Songs

Jorge Pedreros wrote many classic songs from that time. Some of his well-known songs include Caprichito, Sueña, and Entre la arena y el mar. He also became a music producer. This meant he helped create and record music for different artists. He worked on many Chilean TV shows, including the famous Festival de Viña del Mar.

The Jappening con Ja Theme Song

Today, his most famous musical work is the main theme song for the TV show Jappening con ja. This song is called Ríe, which means "Laugh". He originally wrote this song for a different show called Bim Bam Bum.

Jorge Pedreros's Television Career

In the late 1960s, Jorge Pedreros started working in television. He began as a producer for a show called El show de Luis Dimas in Peru.

Forming Los Paparazzi

Later, he teamed up with his friends and fellow comedians, Fernando Alarcón and Eduardo Ravani. They formed a comedy group called "Los Paparazzi". This group was in charge of directing and producing a TV show called Dingolondago from 1976 to 1978.

Creating Jappening con Ja

In 1978, the three friends created the very successful comedy show Jappening con Ja. This show quickly became a huge part of Chilean television culture. On Jappening con Ja, Pedreros showed off his acting skills. He played many memorable characters that people still remember today.

  • Evaristo Espina: This character was a very eager employee who always tried hard to impress his boss.
  • Silverio Silva: A funny radio host.
  • El operado: A patient who had just had surgery, and his friends would try to make him laugh a lot.
  • El indio bolsero: A tough Native American character who always ended up asking for food.

Jappening con Ja's Long Run

Jappening con Ja was on TV for 26 years without stopping. Jorge Pedreros was only away from the show for a short time in 1989 and again from 2000 to 2001. This was because he had some disagreements with Eduardo Ravani.

When he first left Jappening, he joined a show called Éxito on Channel 13. There, he played his popular character Evaristo Espina again. Later, when he left Jappening for the second time, he was in shows like El show de Pepito TV and A la suerte de la Olla.

Jappening con Ja aired its last episode on September 14, 2004. In 2008, Jorge Pedreros returned to play "Espinita" in a show called Mandiola & Cía. This show was like a new version of the "La Oficina" part of Jappening. His friends Eduardo Ravani and Fernando Alarcón also joined him in this show.
