José Antonio González Caviedes (born November 28, 1938 – died December 4, 1996) was an important Spanish politician. He was a leader who helped make decisions for his country.
He served as the mayor of a small town called Olmedo. Later, he became a senator for Valladolid. A senator is like a representative who helps make laws for a country. He was a member of the People's Party. He served as a senator from 1989 until he passed away in 1996.
Sadly, he died in 1996. He had a sudden health problem while driving, which caused his car to be in an accident.

José Antonio González Caviedes was married and had three children. One of his daughters is named Miriam González Durántez. She is married to a British politician named Nick Clegg. Nick Clegg used to be the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
