Life and Career

José Crespo was a talented actor. He started his film career in 1924. He worked in Hollywood during a special time. Back then, studios made separate Spanish versions of their movies. This was so people who spoke Spanish could enjoy them too.

Hollywood Years

Movie bosses at MGM thought José Crespo looked a lot like the American actor John Gilbert. Because of this, Crespo often got roles that John Gilbert played in the English versions. The two actors became good friends.
