Meet Jos Bax, a Dutch professional footballer who was a fantastic goalkeeper! He was born on March 29, 1946, and passed away in July 2020. Jos played for several football clubs during his career, including RPC, EVV Eindhoven, Helmond Sport, VVV, Overpelt, and VOS.
Jos Bax's Football Journey
Jos Bax started his football journey playing for a local amateur club called RPC. In 1965, he joined a professional team, EVV Eindhoven. Interestingly, he couldn't play for the 1965–66 season right away because his paperwork wasn't ready. So, he played handball instead!
At EVV Eindhoven, Jos played in 80 league games and 2 Cup matches. That's a lot of games for a goalkeeper! After Eindhoven, Jos continued his career, playing for other teams like Helmond Sport and VVV. He played one special league game for VVV on March 7, 1976, against FC Volendam. Later, Jos even played football in Belgium for a team called Overpelt. He then returned to the Netherlands to finish his playing days with another amateur club, VOS.
