Josefa Menéndez (born February 4, 1890 – died December 29, 1923) was a Catholic nun. She was also known as a mystic. A mystic is someone who has special spiritual experiences.
Josefa was born into a Christian family in Madrid, Spain. In 1920, when she was 30 years old, she joined a religious group. This group was called the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She joined them in Poitiers, France.
Her daily life as a nun involved cleaning and sewing. During her time as a nun, she said she had visions. These were special experiences where she felt she saw and heard Jesus.
A book called The Way of Divine Love tells her life story. It also shares the details of her reported visions. This book has been reprinted by TAN Books, Inc.
