Josefina Echánove (born Josefina Rojas Hudson; July 21, 1928 – December 29, 2020) was a famous actress from Mexico. She acted in movies, on TV, and in plays. She was even nominated twice for a special award called the Ariel Award for her great acting!

Early Life and Dance
Josefina Echánove was born in New York City but grew up in Guanajuato, Mexico. She first studied journalism in Mexico City. Later, she decided to study dance instead. She even started her own dance school, the Contemporary Dance Academy, at the University of Guanajuato.
Acting Career Highlights
Josefina's acting journey began in plays called Entremeses Cervantinos. These plays later grew into the big International Cervantino Festival. She acted in over 40 movies, both from Mexico and the United States. She also appeared in more than 40 TV shows, often called soap operas.
She was nominated two times for the Best Actress award at the Ariel Awards. This is one of the most important awards for movies in Mexico. She was nominated in 1991 for the movie Por tu maldito amor. Her second nomination was in 1993 for Serpientes y Escaleras, which means Serpents and Stairs.
One of her most memorable stage performances was in 1985. She acted in a play called La fiera del Ajusco.
